We found the buyer through our IND~EX Weekly emailing top our 8k stong Interim Manager database. When the dust had settled on this sale and after a great holiday, Jonathan Cridland called Russam Business –“Now you’ve sold that one for us, can you find us another one please?” – was the simple instruction. Six months later, a deal was done – again we fouind.

Russam GMS has helped put together an MBI team, providing 2 of the 3 team members involved in the acquisition of Quadrant Connections Ltd. Quadrant, an international company based in Radlett, near St Albans specialises in the production of electrical cable assemblies. Russam GMS successfully proposed the Chairman (David Miller) and the Finance Director (Robert Mulley) to corporate finance specialists Watersheds. The team spent more than 15 months working on the deal, which completed during the summer.

Quadrant makes cable assemblies for many blue chip companies in the telecoms, defence and broadcast sectors. Clients include Vodafone, Ericsson, Nokia-Siemens and RS Components. With a turnover of £16 million a year, it employs 130 people. The MBI will allow Anthony Sheridan, the company founder, to sell the business as a going concern and retire after 21 years at the helm. He will continue to provide ongoing support to the Company after the business has transitioned to the new management team.

David Miller, who led the MBI team and came with a significant track record in turning around under-performing manufacturing businesses, commented “The vendors were determined to ensure that they found the right people to buy the business and Russam GMS helped both in bringing me into the deal and in then providing some excellent candidates for the position as Finance Director". Having stabilised the business, he has now started the team on working on various improvement initiatives and is already looking for further teams to lead into other MBI opportunities.
